Graves and Tombs Restoration Committee

This page lists all the known Confederate graves in Jackson County, Florida. The primary source for this list is the Works Progress Administration (WPA) Veterans Graves Records for Jackson County, Florida. Commander Basford of Camp 1346 has provided a more up-to-date list of cemeteries, but many individual veteran names are not included. Some graves have been lost and since many graves were not marked with private or veteran headstones, they were not included on the original WPA list. If you know of any soldier, sailor, or civilian government worker not listed here, please contact me at apollette@hotmail.com. 

You will find on each cemetery page a photograph of the gravestone of each Confederate Veteran buried in the cemetery. A short biographical sketch and service information is provided, when available. Lists of veterans buried in Jackson County may be found on the Jackson County GenWeb site, the US GenWeb  archives, and the Civil War in Florida site.  Since all these lists contain mistakes we are attempting to correct as many as we are able to do.
