More Civil War Soldiers Buried at Cow Pen Pond Cemetery

The pond is visible just past the tree line.

When most people think of the Civil War, they think everyone from the North was in the Union service and everyone from the South was in the Confederate service. This is just not true. People from the south served in the Union army and many from the north served in the Confederate service. This was especially true in Florida, Georgia and Alabama. The Citizens of Jackson County served in both the Union and Confederate service. It was truly a war of Brother against Brother. Cow Pen Pond Cemetery has a great many Union Army Veterans buried there.
