Green Berry Kirkland, son of Mariah and Cyler Kirkland, was born in Emanuel County, Georgia, on 16 Mar 1841, and he died in Jackson County, Florida, on 10 Feb 1896. Green enlisted in Captain Smith's Marianna Dragoons on 14 Mar 1862, at Marianna, Florida. On 24 Sep 1863, this company became Company B, 15th Confederate Cavalry. Green was captured and was paroled at Mobile, Alabama, on 24 Apr 1865. Green married Isabella F. Sevens on 7 Apr 1865, at Mobile, Alabama.
