Benjamin Franklin "Frank" Wester was born on 8 Dec 1838, in Decatur County, Georgia, and he died on 27 Jan 1917, in Jackson County, Florida.  He enlisted at Bellview, Louisiana, in Company A, 19th Louisiana Infantry Regiment on 24 Sep 1861. He was captured at Franklin, Tennessee, on 6 Jan 1865, and was released from Camp Chase, Ohio, and transferred to Point Lookout, Maryland, for exchange on 17 Feb 1865. Frank was wounded in the right foot and spent over a month in a Confederate hospital in Montgomery, Alabama.  He was paroled at Quincy, Florida, on 23 May 1865.
