Theophilus West, M.D. Camp 1346 is dedicated to the restoration of gravestones and marking the resting place of all Confederate Veterans in Jackson County. The remembrance of our heroes is the glue which bonds our camp.  Our Graves and Restoration Committee works hard to keep our ancestors on the forefront of our projects. We can only hope our children and grandchildren will remember.

The 82nd and 86th U.S. Colored Infantries forced Captain Norwood and the main body of the Marianna Home Guard into the burial ground behind St. Luke's Church. Here the "Cradle to Grave" Militia fiercely resisted the attack, but facing overwhelming odds, they were forced to surrender.
