On Saturday, September 22, 2007, members of the Theophilus West Camp 1346, Sons of Confederate Veterans, members of William Henry Milton Chapter No. 1039, United Daughters of the Confederacy, members of the Florida Society, Order of the Confederate Rose, area re-enactors, and a gun crew from the CSS Tallahassee Marine Guard dedicated a new memorial, at Riverside Cemetery, to soldiers who served in Jackson County during the War Between the States. The ceremony recalled, in part, the Battle of Marianna where local men and boys from throughout the county tried to hold back attacking Union troops.  See photos here.
