Our goal is to perpetuate public awareness, and stimulate interest in, the historical significance of the period in Jackson County history during "The War Between the States". A Living History program is planned for Friday, September 25, 2009. This program is designed to educate the public on day to day life of common soldiers and civilians, both Union and Confederate, between 1861 and 1865. A dedication at the Marianna monument, a parade, a bluegrass festival, and two reenactment battles are scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2009.
